PandaBot

2021: I was in my junior year, my high school had entered lockdown because of COVID-19, and everyone was taking classes virtually. Searching for ways to maintain a sense of community, a friend and I had the idea to create a Discord server, which we did, inviting students and faculty to join (our school was small enough that there was more than enough room for everyone).

To make the server more fun and help with moderation, I created PandaBot: the one-stop bot for panda facts, panda images, a below-average chatbot (the AI was far more “A” than “I”), and several other random features. PandaBot runs on Javascript and almost exclusively lived on my school's discord (though you can also message it directly).

Unfortunately, PandaBot isn't currently running. I was paying for a Vultr cloud server out of my own pocket, and since I'm out of high school (which transitioned back to in-person learning anyway) I didn't see a reason for another monthly charge on my bank statement. Nonetheless, you can use your mind and imagine you're chatting with PandaBot with the help of these screenshots (it's almost like the real thing!).
